Running Gangnam style

A few weeks ago Kasey ran his first marathon. I was totally impressed due to the fact that he only trained for about 2 months and I don't even think I could walk 26.2 miles. His knee started hurting a while in to the race so he finished much slower than he hoped but HE FINISHED! He took a little time off and has started slowly training for his next one in March.
On our way to the train station.

One of the towers of Korea's World Trade Center.

The view from our 22nd floor room in Gangnam.

Eisley loved looking out of our window.

Going "fasss" [fast] all afternoon long while we watched racers finish.

We grabbed brunch while Kasey raced.

We also went to the aquarium while waiting for him to finish.

We met a new friend that was waiting for her daddy to finish, too. They were so cute playing and sharing their snacks.

Yay! He's done.

The group of guys he works with and raced with.

Worn out little lady.

The weather has been so nice lately so we've spent as much time as we can outside.
Building forts, getting in the halloween spirit [thanks for the FUN halloween package Aunt Bec and Uncle Dave!], playing at the park, seeing Sesame Street live, getting super dirty outside and riding her bike.

This weekend we celebrated our five year anniversary! We went out for breakfast on Friday and got a babysitter that night so we could see a movie. We saw The Martian and loved it! It was weird to have korean subtitles on the bottom of the screen but other than that the movie theater was really nice! They had all different flavors of popcorn from cheese to squid to curry. We stuck with butter and caramel. On Saturday we went on a hike and out to dinner as a family. It was a fun weekend, I love being married to Kasey and watching our family grow!

Random work out equipment on the hike=jungle gym.

Today is my dads birthday! Happy birthday old man, we love and miss you!

We're back!

Hey! Sorry for skipping out on the blog for a couple months. It got pretty hot and gross here for a minute and we didn't do much except stay inside or go to the pool. There was also some tension between North and South Korea which had Kasey working more than usual for a little while and kept us close to home. Everything is fine now, phew! Fall has begun here (sorry Henderson family) and it's been wonderful so far! Our days are around 80 and our nights are in the 60s. The fields are starting to turn orange and yellow and the farmers will starting harvesting the rice soon. I'm excited to live somewhere with four seasons, a little nervous about the snow though! I've been doing research and I've started a lengthy bucket list of places I want to visit and photograph this fall. I hear Korea is beautiful when the colors change!

Anyway, onto the most important part of our day : Eisley :) Her vocabulary and personality are blossoming more and more each day. She makes everything funnier and we're constantly laughing with her around. She calls everyone "Bob" and we definitely did not teach her that! She says 3-4 word sentences like "here ya go, mama!" while she brings me a fake meal from her play kitchen or "dada, cmon, bath ready!" when she wants Kasey to do bath time with her. [Which is almost every night, thanks man.] Her newest phrases are "bless you" and "sorry." She can count to five and still loves animals, books and being outside. She laughs every time a car honks and likes to "scare" us by being a shark or lion and then giggles when we ask her "where's Eisley?!" Most days you can find her crawling around on the ground acting like a puppy and licking our faces for kisses, going "fast!" running around the house or playing in her play room. She's going to be Little Red Riding Hood for Halloween and she I can't wait. I can't believe we're starting to plan her second birthday! Where does the time go!? :(

Eating dinner with her best friend Roland or "Rollie." He was also her first kiss :)

Kasey bought her her first baby doll one night and it was love at first sight.

Peek a boo or "peeta boo"

We've been watching "Room on the Broom" on Netflix lately [super cute movie for kids] and she loved wearing this witch hat like in the movie.

We'd put her in the guest shower on hot days and let her play in the cold water like a splash pad. She loved it.

Her first [iced] hot chocolate, she thought she was pretty cool and kept saying "hot."

So last weekend Kasey surprised us and came home for the weekend from a two week training he was at in Seoul. Eisley was in the middle of getting her second molars and feeling awful so it was perfect timing. We decided to get out of the house on Saturday to try and distract her a little bit. We went to Anseong Farmland, it's about 15 minutes from our house and so fun. It's a petting zoo with a few kid rides and a tractor ride. The land was so beautiful and we were surprised because it is like right in town. We can't wait to go back in the winter when they do sledding.

This past weekend was Chuseok in Korea. It's a three day holiday that the Koreans celebrate with lots of food and family, like our Thanksgiving. With this holiday comes lots of traffic so we stayed home this weekend. We went grocery shopping on Saturday night and as we were leaving the commissary we decided to see what movies were playing. We had about an hour to catch Hotel Transylvania 2 so we unloaded the groceries and headed back. Eisley loved it and was mesmerized the entire time.

We miss the states and all of our families but we are enjoying our adventure here! I hope you all had a good weekend, I have warm banana bread waiting for me and Eisley so our Monday isn't turning out too bad!

Bear Tree Park + Ramblings

On Saturday we visited Bear Tree Park, it's about a 40 minute drive from us. After telling Eisley that we were going to see bears and she crawled around on all fours roaring like a bear, I was really hoping the park wouldn't disappoint. It didn't, while somewhat sad to see the bears in captivity, it was cool to see them so up close and to feed them. The park was beautiful! Some of it looked like it was off the pages of a Dr. Seuss book.

Fish food which she only tried to eat twice.

"deej!"

Our park tour guide.

Independent and determined little thing.

Legit Dr. Seuss trees.

Giving fishy kisses.

Ice cream pit stop.

It's been stormy and hot here the past week or so. We still haven't turned on our AC per our realtors wishes. It's only truly miserable for about an hour in the afternoon, which pushes us out the door to get out of the hot house. We usually end up at the track on base where it's cooler near the grass and Eisley can run off energy while Kasey and I take turns working out and watching her. Unfortunately [or fortunately, if I'm being real] this has put a damper on making dinner at the hottest time of the day. We've been having lots of crockpot meals and smoothies for dinner lately. Oh and take out pizza ;) Eisley can put down a slice of pizza on top of the rest of her dinner and now exclaims "PIZZA!" whenever we ask her what she wants to eat. Oops. Her newest words are "fast" which she likes to yell after we sing the song Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes, "why?" like when we take her out of her beloved bath after a half hour of playing she whines "whhhhhy?" and it breaks my heart, "what's dis?" as she points to an old piece of gum on the concrete and "I did it!" BUT her favorite word is "no." :/ She's the funniest little person. I never want to forget the sweet little moments in the day with her. Like how she says "I luf of" and waves "bye bye" to her daddy over my shoulder as we walk out of our room to lay her down at night. Or when she screams "mama!" as I walk in the door from spin class on Thursday nights. Sorry for the mushy #mompost. They just grow so fast.

Our stuff is [supposed] to be here on August 7th! It's been a lonnnnng 3 months. I don't know whether I'm more excited for my bed or my vacuum.
