Rochelle, here's the cake!
On Saturday Kasey wanted to take us to Anam, where he lived and went to school for six weeks last year. It's 2 subway transfers and 8 stops above Seoul. It was really neat to see the places he hung out and where he went to class. It's totally got that small college town feel. We ate at a DELICIOUS Indian restaurant and had ice cream after. I've never had Indian food I don't think, but I've been craving it ever since. [I just ordered the spices off Amazon to try and make my own chicken tikka masala!]
Korea University
The campus is beautiful!
The International Studies building where Kasey went to school every day.
"deej"
Ice cream in a waffle! For less than $1!
Then we jumped back on the subway [one of VERY few places in Korea that run AC in the summer, it feels like heaven down there] and went to Dongdaemun to look around. It's mostly known for it's shopping so we explored town a bit and did a little window shopping before heading home.
Dongdaemun translates to east big gate. This gate is one of the Eight Gates of Seoul that were located in the Fortress Wall of Seoul during the Joseon Dynasty. These gates were originally built between 1396-1398.
There is a river that runs through town that you can walk down to and walk across.
Kasey has Mondays off so late Sunday night we decided we'd go to Everland the next day. It's the amusement park of Korea. It was so FUN! Like, my dream come true parenting day. Eisley had a blast and was on the go all day long. It was way cheaper than Disneyland with an amazing zoo and water park included. It was like Disneyland [minus the Disney part], San Diego Zoo and Wet n' Wild mixed together. We only did the amusement park and zoo this time but plan on going to the water park, Caribbean Bay, soon! We went on two different safari tours at the zoo, it was so cool! Prepare yourself for photo overload. I'd say sorry but I'm not! It was just too fun to see Eisley so excited. [and I may have skipped through the parking lot going in because I was so giddy...]
This guy sounded like a velociraptor.
Polar bear
Penguins
This nursing mom is giving him a smooch. So sweet.
HEY!
At this point in the safari we're actually in the water!
He stood up so the safari driver threw him some treats.
Then we went on all the kid rides that the park offered. She couldn't get enough and would run from one to the other.
He had more fun at this ball house then she did I think ;)
She's saying "woohoo"
She's got a thing for parades..
This is the 3rd steepest roller coaster in the world! I wanted to go on it so bad but it had a 40 minute wait :( so I went on a smaller one. It was so fun, I haven't been on a roller coaster in years.
Kasey did most of the rides with her because I kept getting motion sick.
The splash pad took some warming up to but she played for close to an hour. It was sweet to see her play with the Korean kids. Even though they don't speak the same language they all speak kid gibberish and they got along great.
Her curls are my favorite! I hope they stay.
We had such a fun day. I love being wife and mom in this family. Raising Eisley is bringing me so much joy every day. And if there weren't enough pictures on this post already here's a few more! Her favorite phrases as of lately are "let's go!" and "I got this."
One last crazy story, I was running on a trail by our house that runs next to a river last week and watched a rescue team pull a body out of the river. It was nuts. And sad. Also, we're binge watching the show "Happy Valley" on Netflix right now. It's gooood if anyone needs a new show!
